When I was little one thing marked the beginning of the Thanksgiving & Christmas season for me as a child, and that was the arrival of the Sears Roebuck Christmas Catalog. No noble thoughts of the Christ of Christmas, just lustful and covetous thoughts of what I could get for myself, with no thoughts as to the gifts that I could give others. Sadly this could describe some recent holiday experience, not just an instance from my childhood. This morning's devotion helps us to think how we and our families in our faith might be able to share in the Joy of our Salvation with other families this Thanksgiving and Christmas!
